Fleet Management System

Business challenge: Keep buses in service by scheduling preventive maintenance; tracking details of all bus maintenance for legislative and legal purposes for life of the vehicle requires easy access to high volumes of data.

Solution highlights: Mechanics enter real time maintenance results on their tablet PCs. System simplifies creation and management of work orders, and consolidates maintenance information with purchasing, receiving, and inventory management.

Key benefit: Immediately updates maintenance records and inventory as mechanics enter results. Provides detailed historical data to support all reporting requirements.

Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, and SQL Server

Paratransit System

Business challenge: Maintain information about eligibility for paratransit services across counties in California.

Solution highlights: Easy to use custom web application allows simple entry and updating of information and replaces legacy application that required a unique Windows login for each county and used a VPN connection to a desktop system.

Key benefit: Single user access to multiple counties; simple web access; improved accuracy of reports based on tracking detailed historical data.

Ridership Count Automation

Business challenge: Improve accuracy and reduce the time required to track the number of riders, including ADA passengers, at each stop on all routes and buses.

Solution highlights: Using an Android, bus drivers enter ridership count for each bus stop. Data entry is minimized by synchronizing each Android with bus, route, and stop information that is set up once by the system administrator.

Key benefit: Minimum key strokes at each bus stop provide all the information required for management and legislated reporting.

Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Java, and SQL Server
